Conflict Resolution Center (formerly known as CALM) offers FREE mediation to all Frederick County residents. Mediation is neutral, confidential, and voluntary – everyone must agree to participate. We are here to help you have difficult conversations to resolve conflict with colleagues/employers, family, friends, landlord/tenants, and neighbors – in any situation where there is conflict.
Conflict Resolution Center is a 501(c)3 non-profit community service organization, which provides affordable and accessible conflict resolution services to all Frederick County residents through education, mediation, community conferencing, and facilitation. Conflict Resolution Center promotes peaceful resolution of conflicts. Conflict Resolution Center’s goal is to provide mediation services and education, resulting in:
– Decreased civil court cases
– Decreased sense of alienation by citizens
– Increased number of qualified, practicing mediators
– Support for the public school system’s efforts in conflict resolution
– Increased awareness and use of peaceful conflict resolution techniques and services
Conflict Resolution Center is funded by a grant from the Maryland Mediation and Conflict Resolution Office (MACRO) matched by individual contributions. Conflict Resolution Center is a member of the National Association of Community Mediation Centers, Community Mediation Maryland, Frederick Elder Services Network, and Frederick County Juvenile Taskforce.
